What this calculator does
The Currency Converter estimates the equivalent value of money from one currency to another using the exchange rate entered or supplied by the page. It is useful for travel budgets, international price comparisons, and rough transaction planning.
How to use the calculator step by step
Enter the amount, select the source and destination currencies, and confirm the exchange rate if the calculator allows manual entry. Use a current rate when accuracy matters because currency markets move continuously.
How the calculation works
Currency conversion multiplies the source amount by the exchange rate when the rate represents destination currency per one unit of source currency. If the rate is quoted in the opposite direction, the conversion requires division instead.
Worked example and scenario testing
If 1 unit of Currency A equals 1.25 units of Currency B, then 200 units of A convert to 250 units of B before any fees or spreads.
How to interpret your result
The converted value is a market-rate estimate. The amount actually received from a bank, card issuer, exchange office, or payment service can differ.
Accuracy, assumptions, and limitations
Providers may add spreads, commissions, card fees, transfer fees, weekend adjustments, or delayed settlement rates. Exchange rates can also change between calculation and payment.
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not assume the displayed market rate is the exact rate a provider will give you. Also check which currency is the base and which is the quote currency.
Privacy and browser-based calculations
