What this calculator does

The Hourly Pay Calculator estimates earnings from an hourly wage and number of hours worked. It can help convert a work schedule into daily, weekly, monthly, or annual gross pay.

How to use the calculator step by step

Enter the hourly rate and expected working hours using the fields shown. If overtime is handled separately, enter only regular hours unless the calculator specifically includes an overtime rate.

How the calculation works

Basic gross pay equals hourly rate multiplied by hours worked. For example, 22 per hour for 40 hours produces 880 of gross weekly pay before taxes and deductions.

Worked example and scenario testing

At 18.50 per hour and 37.5 hours per week, weekly gross pay is 693.75. Multiplying by 52 weeks gives 36,075 annually if every week is paid and the schedule remains unchanged.

How to interpret your result

The result is usually gross earnings rather than take-home pay. Actual annual income can differ because of holidays, unpaid leave, overtime, bonuses, changing schedules, and deductions.

Accuracy, assumptions, and limitations

The calculator may assume a constant weekly schedule and may not include overtime premiums, shift differentials, tips, commissions, payroll tax, or benefits.

Common mistakes to avoid

Avoid assuming every year contains 52 fully paid working weeks if you have unpaid time off. Also keep regular and overtime rates separate when required.

Privacy and browser-based calculations

Only pay rate and hours are needed. Do not enter payroll passwords, employee IDs, or banking details.
